Ride the Chile Express & Hike Down
The leaves are starting to change in the mountains and we’re ready for some autumn color here at Angel Fire Resort. What’s the best way to see these beautiful fall colors? A quick ride up the Chile Express will bring you 2000 ft above the Moreno Valley where you will see panoramic views of the Southern Rockies and gorgeous fall colors. If you’re feeling adventurous, the Enlightenment Trail is an advanced hiking trail that spans over 2000 vertical feet, from the summit of Angel Fire Resort to the base accessed by the Chile Express.
Disc Golf at the Summit
Capture the best views around and challenge your friends to a round of disc golf at the Summit. The 18-hole disc golf course features both amateur and pro tee pads. The course snakes you through a scenic hike above the Moreno Valley floor. With the last hole bringing you back to the central summit area. Course maps, disc rentals and scorecards are available in the Ticket Office at the base of the Chile Express chairlift. Call (575) 377-4383 for any additional information.
Golf With the Pros
Grab your clubs and tee off at Angel Fire Resort’s unspoiled golf course. The par 72, 6,653 yard, 18-hole golf course meanders through groves of aspen, spruce and pine. Paddle Around the Lake
Just because summer is over, that doesn’t mean the water is off limits. Monte Verde lake is your premiere spot for fishing, paddling and even walking the dog. Fishing equipment, bait, stand-up paddle boards, pedal boats, two-person kayaks, and fishing boats are available for rent. In fact, the fun continues at Monte Verde Lake on weekends through October 27.
Bike Park Adventures
Ah yes, autumn. Our favorite time of year for a crisp, morning ride through golden glades, kicking up leaves! But seriously, it is gorgeous this time of year here at Angel Fire Resort. Not only are we extending the season through October 24th, but we’re opening up a new trail! Rejoice! Because Smoke Signals will turn up the heat on your morning ride. Bring a season pass from another lift-served bike park and receive 50% a day pass.
October is bursting with end-of-season events at the Bike Park. The annual Gravity Games is back for 2019 with more fun than before. With long jump and high jump challenges, to Lil’ Shredders races, there is something for bikers of all ages to enjoy. Wrapping up the race schedule is the final Fire5 Downhill Race Series held Oct. 13-14.
