We all know skiing and snowboarding brings people together. Young, old, rich, and ski bums. Snowsports are an activity that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. Part of having fun on the slopes is being comfortable, using proper technique, and staying within your ability level. If you have kids, knowing their ability level will help them to fall in love with the sport and help you avoid a meltdown.
Take a look at this flow chart to help you decide your ability level.
These symbols can be seen throughout the mountain and will help you decide which runs are for you, and which runs you can skip.
Make sure you take a look at the trail map before you start your day on the slopes. Planning which trails to ski can be a great activity to do with the whole family. And you will seem like a pro when you’re out on the slopes. You can say things like, “I believe that’s Hully Gully. Let’s head over to Headin’ Home.” Knowing where the terrain you want is located will help you avoid getting stuck on a run you don’t want to be on.
Improve your Ability
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to take your skills to the next level, a ski or snowboard lesson is the best way to progress quickly and correctly. (Even Shaun White has a coach.) For that reason, Angel Fire Resort has lessons for all ages and ability levels. It’s a great place to learn and grow your skills because of our varied terrain.
Kids Lessons
We have some of the best instructors in the state who can help your kid learn, improve, and have fun! We use a GPS tracking app, Flaik. Parents can see their kid’s progress and kids can earn fun badges for various accomplishments.
