Golf balls travel farther at higher altitudes because the air density decreases as elevation increases, which reduces drag force on the ball. This allows the ball to move more easily through the air and doesn’t slow down as quickly, resulting in greater distance. It’s science! Who are we to argue with science? Angel Fire Resort’s golf course is situated at 8.600 feet above sea level. So get ready to play some of the best golf of your life on our high-altitude course.

The front nine incorporates a longer-playing layout that meanders through two unspoiled canyons of aspen, spruce, and pine, while the back nine offers links-style play with smaller greens and plenty of bunkers. The signature hole, #6, places the golfer on the tee box 200 vertical feet above the green, 239 yards away, surrounded by groves of aspen trees and towering pine. These gorgeous panoramas and abundant wildlife are sure to make your round a memorable one.
