Once you’ve booked your spring break trip to Angel Fire, it’s time to plan all the things you’re going to do once you’re here. Below are a few ideas to get you started.
1. Hit the Slopes (of course!)
Most likely, skiing and snowboarding are what you’re coming for. So take advantage of our beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails. No matter what your skill level, there’s something for you. Don’t forget to book lessons well in advance if necessary.
2. Tubing
Angel Fire Resort also has a tubing hill that’s perfect for families with kids. (Note: also good for adults who act like kids.) You can rent tubes and slide down the hill for loads of fun.
3. Night Skiing
Of course, you’ll want to take in those breathtaking mountain views all day long. But have you ever skied under the stars? Don’t sleep on the only night skiing available in the state of New Mexico! It’s offered every night of the last weekend and week of our operation this year.
4. Nordic Skiing or Snowshoeing
Angel Fire has several cross-country skiing trails that are perfect for those who want to explore the beautiful winter landscape. There are over 12 km of groomed, classic, and skate cross-country ski trails.
5. Dining
Why cook if you don’t have to? Angel Fire has several restaurants that are perfect for those looking to relax and unwind after a day on the slopes.
6. Go On a Horse-Drawn Sleighride
Explore the forests and mountains surrounding Angel Fire via sleighride. Roadrunner Tours will help your family or group make some amazing memories in enchanting Northern New Mexico along scenic mountain trails through the Aspen and Ponderosa pine trees of Carson National Forest.
7. Sledding Hill
Young kiddos (and the young at heart) won’t want to miss our sledding hill. Glide down gentle slopes for some outdoor fun and exercise.
8. Live Music
Angel Fire has a few live music venues that offer entertainment throughout the week. You can enjoy a night out and listen to some great music. Find out who’s playing and where on our events calendar.
9. Enjoy Your Favorite Treats . . . Together!
As you’re packing, make sure to include your favorite snacks to refuel after a long day of outdoor fun. Obviously, bring the healthy stuff. But don’t forget the hot chocolate (with extra marshmallows) and maybe some sweet or salty snacks to celebrate your slopeside accomplishments.
10. Good Ol’ Fashioned Bonding
Pull out the board games, cards, or family-friendly movies at your rental or in the lodge for some great family time. It’s not every day that you have the opportunity to get away from it all and reconnect with each other. So you just might want to schedule that into your spring break week.
We hope you enjoy your spring break adventure in Angel Fire!
